Village History

The Village grew and became a major stopping point between Halifax and Truro with stores, hotel, restaurants and repair shops.  The arrival of the CPR railway through the Village encouraged business to be built along the tracks.  The “milk train” was one of the main attractions of the local dairies, for getting their milk to the Halifax market.
